Forged from 52100 carbon steel for the cutting edge with stainless/nickel cladding. 52100 is used to manufacture industrial cutters, automotive and aircraft components as it has great toughness and durability. Carbon steel holds a very fine durable edge but will patina and should be dry stored when not in use. The petty style blade is great for a wide range of small tasks in the kitchen with a more light and nimble feel. The handle wood has been stabilized in a resin to resist moisture and increase durability.
