This blade is engraved with Ogham writing which is an ancient alphabet still shown carved in stone inscriptions around Ireland today. This word read vertically translates to griffin.
The steel 52100 is used to manufacture industrial cutters, automotive and aircraft components as it known for its exceptional hardness, strength, and wear resistance. Treated with a liquid nitrogen cryogenic stage during steel hardening for maximum performance. Carbon steel holds a very fine durable edge but will patina and should be dry stored when not in use. The Gyuto style blade is great for all round general use and features a concave “S-grind” to reduce surface area and improve food release.
The half rounded WA style handle features ancient bog oak which has been stabilized in a resin to resist moisture and increase durability paired with locally sourced fume darkened holm oak.
